Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 Pro Wants to Be Your Tablet and Big Screen TV

What if your tablet was also a home theater projector? That's exactly what Lenovo is trying to do with the Yoga Tablet 2 Pro.

The Yoga Tablet 2 Pro is a 13.3-inch Android tablet with a built-in Pico projector and an 8 watt sound system with subwoofer.

Lenovo's thought is that the tablet is already becoming the place consumers turn to for media, movies and games. Why not complete the circle and make the tablet not just a personal TV, but the true center of the living room?

With that in mind, the quad-HD 2560x1440 screen includes a 16:9 Pico projector that can create a 50-in theater experience. When in projection mode, the Yoga Table 2 Pro has up to 3 hours of battery life.

You can also use the Yoga Tablet 2 Pro as a way to easily project presentations during meetings on the go, making it an interesting choice for business users. I almost think the business use case here makes more sense than the consumer choice, if only because of how difficult it can still be to connect tablets to standard projection systems.

The Yoga Tablet 2 Pro is running a fourth-generation Intel Atom processor and Android 4.4 KitKat. It features 2GB of RAM and has 32GB of storage, with support for microSD card of up to 64GB. Importantly, it also has a micro USB OTG port, so you can hook it up to an external hard drive for content.

When not being used as a projector, the tablet has 15 ours of battery life.

The Tablet 2 Pro will be available at the end of October for $499.99.
