Now you can start brewing your coffee with your smartphone
Every day, our smartphones are seeming more and more like magic wands. They can turn lights on and off, control the temperature and now start your coffee brewer.
The Nespresso Prodigio is the first coffee brewer that connects to your Android or iPhone via Bluetooth, letting you control when and how it brews without needing to be in the same room. All you have to do is keep the water tank filled and replace the Nespresso coffee capsules.
While it may not seem like much of a step above standard coffee brewers that you can set to brew with a timer, think about those days you aren't quite sure when you'll wake up. When you do, you can hit brew on the Nespresso app from bed.
Not only that, the
Prodigio can talk to your phone to tell you when its water tank is empty and when you’re low on capsules, which you can order more of with your phone.
If that’s all too much, don’t worry — the smart brewer also has normal buttons on it for in-person brewing.
There are three settings on the Prodigio: ristretto, which is a short shot of espresso; normal espresso; and lungo, which is an espresso with double the water. If you want to shell out some extra cash, there is also a milk frother to make milky coffee beverages like macchiatos and lattes.
The Prodigio is currently only available to order through Sur la Table for $249, with the milk frother costing an additional $50.
