The Lift is a wireless charger designed to work with the Apple Watch and the Pebblesmartwatches, offering a cool way to recharge your wearable while enjoying what looks like a piece of museum art from the future.
Using magnetic levitation, a method that has become common for the latest, high-end Bluetooth speakers, the charging unit that holds your Apple Watch hovers over the charging base while delivering a charge to your device.
That same hovering charging unit can then be taken with you to serve as a backup charging solution when the battery in your Apple Watch runs low.
The charging device is being offered for $149 during the company's Kickstarter campaign, which has already blown past its $44,000 goal, and will sell for $199 when it's available outside of the campaign.
So is strapping your Apple Watch to a floating charger the quickest and most efficient way to give your smartwatch a quick boost? Probably not. But is it the coolest? You know it is.
